Self Storage Plus

Nice location, clean, facilities are great. It had been awhile since I'd rented a storage unit, so maybe I was naive. In less than 6 months my rate went from $130 to $230 (77% increase), then magically when I provided 2 months heads up that I was closing the account, my rate immediately went to $308 (137% increase). When you call and ask why, answer is "Market conditions". Maybe every location is like this - if so, I'd do everything you can to avoid using places like this.

Very convenient for my location. We have the climate controlled unit but I think they have them set at like 85 degrees so it’s warm. I guess better than 100 degrees without climate controlled

This self storage facility is newer, clean, and completely indoors. It is equipped with elevators and flat-bed carts. Plus, its loading area is covered. Access is secured with a personal code for each customer. OK, so what? A lot of storage facilities boast thes features. Well, this one is noticeably less expensive that comparable facilities in the area. And I got 1st month free, plus the "web rate", which some places make you whip out your phone to set up, rather than just giving it to you in person. Additionally, the Self Storage Plus in Ashburn just happens to be the closest self storage to where I live, which is the cherry on top. Enthusiastically recommend 👍!

Excellent service and a state-of-the-art facility! I appreciate the various unit sizes and the flexible month-to-month lease options. Moving in was a breeze thanks to the large elevators and first-floor access. It’s clear the management takes security seriously with 24/7 video recording and on-site staff. Save yourself the frustration we've had — avoid Self Storage Plus. We moved in 14 months ago at $90/month for a 10×10 unit. They've raised our rate twice since then, and as of June 2026 we're being charged $225/month — a 150% increase in just over a year. At the same time, they're actively advertising that same unit size to new customers for $111 with the first month free. Pricing existing customers at double what new customers pay isn't a rate adjustment — it's a business model. Scroll through the other reviews here and you'll see this pattern is well-established. Long-term customers get squeezed while the welcome mat stays out for new ones. The facility itself has also noticeably declined. Carts are rarely available, and when there is one, it's often the same broken-wheeled cart that's been sitting there for months. The place is dirtier and less pleasant than when we moved in. We're moving out. If you're considering Self Storage Plus, I'd encourage you to consider our experience and the experience of many others first.
