Pretty cool place to watch a movie and get some decent snacks and beverages. Apparently the theme in the lobby is from the shining movie which is pretty cool! I had the turkey wrap and it was really good. Seats could use a little updating but other than that the screen is great.

Nice theater and cool vibes with the retro media, but it definitely has room for improvement. The first time I came it took so long for my beer to be delivered that I ended up ordering a second one as I thought they hadn’t got my first order. Also, the food is fine, albeit expensive, and there’s not enough lighting, if any at times, in the theater to write down orders during the movie. Not to mention how loud it is in the theater during the previews.

Came here to see the new Spiderman movie. The food and drink were good, I do wish they offered reclining seats but it is clear when booking your tickets that they are normal seats. Only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the theater offers “bottomless” popcorn but we were unable to get a single refill throughout the entire duration of the film. Overall a good experience but wished we could have been able to flag down our server for more popcorn.

The Alamo used to be my favorite theatre growing up, but this specific one has definitely gone downhill. The staff almost never come back unless its to give you the check, theres never anyone at the bar area to speak to or answer questions if you need anything, bathrooms are frequently understocked, once the movie starts youre pretty much on ur own till it ends (like a normal theatre) and you can forget about ordering food, it wont come until the movie is nearly over and then you likely wont have time to finish. The staff is very neglectful, I feel they need a revamp and new employees. They also do NOT tell you about any after credit scenes, so Google it before going in to make sure you don’t miss them.

What happened to this theater? We just went to see the Odyssey and we end up in dreaded theater 9. I wish the app would let you know which theater the movie is playing in. We would have chosen a different time. 1. As soon as we sat down, the armrest on one of our seats was completely broken. As in it came off. Dropped to the floor. It was unusable. Lovely. I felt like I was sitting in the middle seat on an airplane and lost the armrest war. 2. The ordering system. Everything is now ordered through an app. No one will take your order. It took an extremely long time to get our drinks and even longer for our food. The food was cold by the time we got it. Not great, especially for fries. 3. Of course you are still expected to tip your servers. If you’d do not close out your tab within 20 minutes of the movie being over, it is closed for you with an automatic 18% tip added. No one tells you this of course. Luckily I remembered to close it out before we left. I do not mind tipping. I get it. It’s part of our everyday life. I would like to have a real server take my order. 4. It really irks me we have to order online using their WiFi because regular signal will not work. I do not like using public WiFi. I try to avoid it at all cost. So not only do we need to use the WiFi, but we have to enter credit cards numbers as well as all our other info. A dishonest persons paradise. We used to love going to this theater, next time we will be going elsewhere. Maybe where the seats are not broken and they recline.

Coming here has always been a treat. The staff is always accommodating, especially with popcorn refills. No one here is uptight and the employees are there to help you, rather than question or fight you. We’ve been coming to this specific location for 10 years. Tuesday and Wednesday are absolute money savers. Seats are confortable and the popcorn and Icee’s are constantly flowing. We hope it never goes away. Thabk you yo the amazing staff 👏

The staff is all very friendly, and I found the theater to be very comfortable for my movie viewing experience. That miniscule African American man at bar was so handsome, his face was like a bed of lavender flowers from the most beautiful of dreams. Even though I hate short people he was still very friendly to me. 10/10 experience will come again (especially for that dashing young black bronco)

Communication from staff and signage was not the best. When you book you really have to look at google pictures of what the theater looks like to get an idea of where to sit. It’s not a typical layout and the first row if seats is literally folded down for non use for a reason. I couldn’t tell you if there was an elevator for those who can’t take the stairs or escalator becauseI don’tremembersigns or seeing one. If there’s an issue there did not appear to be any staff on the very high up, upper level. I think the most fusterating part was the spot which remained on the center screen for the entirety of the movie. I guess it’s great if you don’t mind fending for yourself at all times.

What an unforgettable experience. I came to this AMC for a 1:00 PM showing last Friday and was treated to what can only be described as a masterclass in theater management. The trailers started with the house lights fully on, apparently giving us all the exciting opportunity to admire the auditorium instead of the screen. The best part? The lights stayed on until a customer had to go inform the staff. It’s always nice when paying customers get the chance to help run the theater. But the real highlight was the sound system. Whoever is in charge of the volume clearly believes that subtlety is for the weak. The speakers were cranked up to a level that felt less like watching a movie and more like participating in an audio endurance challenge. The volume was so bad that I had to put earplugs in, and even then it was barely manageable. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to leave a movie theater with your ears ringing for an hour—or better yet, completely deaf—this is the place for you. For the price of a movie ticket, I was expecting a film. Instead, I got an immersive sensory experiment featuring blinding lights, ear-splitting audio, and the privilege of helping the staff perform basic theater operations. Five stars if your goal is temporary hearing loss. One star because that’s the lowest rating Google allows.

The screen in Theater 5 is so large, and the rows of seats so close to it, that the first two rows of seats are useless. Even if you recline your seat fully in the second row, you cannot see the entire screen from your seat and miss action to the far right or far left. If you were watching a foreign film with subtitles, I bet you’d never be able to read them — because the span of the screen is too great. (I noticed during the pre-movie commercials that I could not read everything on the screen.) Not a good design, in other words — even for the theater, because they have two rows of seats that will never be occupied, so will never generate revenue. The volume of the movie was Way Too Loud. The popcorn was abysmal; a big waste of money.

I enjoy coming here because the vibe is nice. There’s a restaurant right near the theatre … and just walking the area is calming. The theatre is welcoming and lit up nicely. I go here for the 4DX. Feels like I’m a part of the movie. Definitely recommend for anyone who hasn’t experienced 4DX. My kids enjoy it everytime.

Extremely disappointing IMAX experience watching The Odyssey. The screen went dark right at the biggest cliffhanger, and instead of communicating what was happening, the staff made the audience wait for nearly 30 minutes before finally asking everyone to leave. The refund process was slow and frustrating, adding to the poor experience. An IMAX ticket comes at a premium, and this level of service is unacceptable. Easily one of the worst movie theater experiences I’ve ever had.

I have been here multiple times, the theater and screen quality is really good. The staff are nice and polite. What’s sucks are the seats which don’t recline, they are not comfortable for long watch movies. The seat that does recline is good but not many. Was always able to find parking

I’ve been to this Regal a number of times. I usually go for their Imax theatre, but today I watched the new Captain America movie in 4DX theatre. I had yet to try a movie in 4DX it was ok the seats definitely move quite a bit think seat belts would be helpful. I know that 4DX has more to offer than just the seat movement. I’ve heard that depending on the film there can be scents, flashing lights, bubbles and more. C A didn’t have any of those effects though lights did flash a few times. Sound was really good loud enough, but not over powering. Their concession, ticket prices are typical for movie theatre’s, an arm and a leg. They have a couple of specialty café in the lobby along with a bar if you’d like a adult beverage. They also do have some food other than popcorn or nachos, but it’s limited. I normally go to Alamo drafthouse cinemas in Winchester Va because it’s closer to me. They don’t have an Imax or a 4DX. 👺 The theatre is well kept and clean throughout at least from what I’ve seen.

The hour and a half drive was absolutely worth it for the 4DX experience of the movie we wanted to see it truly exceeded my expectations! It felt like being at Universal Studios with how immersive everything was. The theater was spotless, and the music playing in the lobby set such a fun vibe from the moment we walked in. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I wouldn’t hesitate to make the drive again to enjoy it! 🎬✨

Frequently asked questions about cinemas in Ashburn

What is the typical cost of a cinema ticket?

Cinema ticket prices can vary, generally ranging from a moderate to a higher price point depending on factors like the specific cinema, the type of screening (e.g., standard, 3D, IMAX), and the time of day or week. Matinee showings or off-peak times often have lower prices than evening or weekend shows.

How do I choose the best cinema seats?

Choosing the best cinema seats often involves considering your personal preference for viewing angle and proximity to the screen. Many people prefer seats in the middle section of the auditorium, both horizontally and vertically, as this typically offers the most balanced and immersive viewing experience. It's also helpful to consider legroom and avoid seats too close to the screen or directly under speakers.

What are the general advantages of going to the cinema?

Going to the cinema offers several advantages, including a large-screen, high-quality audio-visual experience that is difficult to replicate at home, and the unique social aspect of watching a film with an audience. It provides an escape from daily routines and a chance to enjoy new releases in a dedicated entertainment environment.

What is the difference between cinema and film?

The terms "cinema" and "film" are closely related but have distinct meanings: "Cinema" generally refers to the art form and industry of motion pictures, including the buildings where films are shown, while "film" specifically refers to the motion picture itself, the content being viewed.
