It’s so comforting to find a Dr. who is so gentle and patient with senior pups. Also, Dr. Cleland! She is SO amazing—so thorough, kind, and always makes us feel like we’re in the best hands. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new vet. Goose Creek came highly recommended and exceeded every expectation I had! I’ve now seen Dr. Stewart & Dr. Cleland for my fur-child’s care. They are so compassionate & you can tell they care a lot about providing you with the best care. They answered all my questions, even the ridiculous ones lol, without judgement. They went into extreme detail, which made me feel comfortable knowing my pup was being well cared for. Also, I don’t want to forget all the wonderful nurses that helped in the care of my pup. We have taken our beloved Bimmer here for the past 7 years since we first moved to the area. We have always really liked them. Sometimes it felt like they ran extra testing, which did add to the cost, but at the same time, I would always prefer them to be extra careful rather than miss something. Unfortunately, we recently had to say goodbye to our family member. At the moment when we needed support the most, this team truly stepped up. Dr. Fernandez sat there and cried with us, you cannot imagine how connected I felt to them during such a tough time. This was our first time going through this, and I am actually crying writing this six months later because I am reliving the moment. But Dr. Fernandez gave us comfort and peace of mind when we needed it most. We weren’t rushed at all; instead, we were encouraged to stay with him as long as we needed. It was the saddest day of my life, and it meant everything to not feel pressured to leave before I was ready. They even sent us a beautiful gift afterward, which brought us to tears all over again. It was a wonderful gesture. If we ever welcome another four-legged child into our lives, this is exactly where we will bring him. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a team to care for their family members. The pic is bimmer in 2022 at the Vet’s. Though we love them, Bimmer was not too fond of the place, but he liked the people :).

I can tell all the staff genuinely like their job and have a true love for animals. I can’t say enough good things about Caring Hands! I recently moved from Arlington to Ashburn, and finding a new veterinarian can be nerve-wracking—but we truly hit the jackpot here. Everyone is incredibly kind, gentle, and thoughtful, and it’s clear that the entire team genuinely loves animals. They also take wonderful care of the humans! They take the time to explain what is happening, answer questions, and make sure you feel informed and comfortable. You never feel as though they are rushing through your appointment just to get to the next one. I grew up in a small town, and Caring Hands has that same warm, personal, small-town approach—where you feel like you and your pet are truly known and cared for. I’m so grateful we found them!

Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Ashburn has been our go-to veterinary practice for our two dogs. The staff is always friendly, caring, and attentive, and we truly appreciate that they follow up to check on our dogs after their visits. The one concern I’ve noticed over the years is the significant increase in prices. About nine years ago, we paid around $75 for a veterinary visit, and now the cost is over $100 not counting vaccinations, etc. The increases seemed to happen gradually and without much communication, which was disappointing. We have been happy with the care our dogs have received, but if we decide to get another pet in the future, we will likely research and compare other veterinary options in the area.

Caring Hands has been absolutely phenomenal with both of our dogs! From routine visits to a couple of unexpected emergencies, their team has consistently gone above and beyond. They’ve always found a way to fit us in quickly, and every time, they take the time to thoroughly explain what’s going on so we feel informed and confident about our pets’ care. What truly sets them apart is their compassion. The last two visits, we had the same vet tech, and she was incredible—so warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in our dogs’ well-being. You can instantly tell that everyone there truly loves animals and treats them like family. I wholeheartedly recommend Caring Hands to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care. My husky Kodak had a great experience at Caring Hands! I wanted to find a new vet in the area so we went in for a check up and vaccine update. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The vet and vet tech seemed to genuinely care about Kodak and his wellbeing, plus he got lots of treats, so he was happy!

After moving out of town and now returning, I wanted to take a moment to thank Dr. Singh and his assistant, Jaydeep, for the wonderful care they provided my pet. Dr. Singh is incredibly knowledgeable and caring, and Jaydeep was compassionate, attentive, and very thorough. From the phone calls to the in-clinic care, the entire experience was excellent. It truly gave me peace of mind knowing my pet was in such good hands.

Dr. Singh always thoughtfully examines my dog and has done so for the past three dogs. I trust his diagnoses and treatments which have never failed. Prices are not inflated, but a bit more market-fair than others.

It is my first time visting the hospital.. My Cookie been bit by another dog and they immedietly accepted to check him in without an appointment. The Vet and the front desk are so generous..

My chihuahua and I moved out here from California a couple years back. Ashburn Veterinary Hospital was recommended by my landlord. All of the staff are wonderful and have taken the best care of my dog, the light of my life. While my chihuahua has always received dental care, the quality of the care she received at Ashburn Veterinary Hospital is better than anywhere I’ve taken her before. After her first dental cleaning with them her teeth looked better than ever, and she had a remarkable improvement in her energy and playfulness. Even after moving further from Ashburn Veterinary Hospital I still go out of my way to bring her there because I know she is in good hands. My chihuahua is 14 going on 15.

We took our puppy to the vet for his first time visit! Our puppy was so happy and excited! I truly loved our experience with the team. They really love what they do. Very informative and helpful. We asked a lot of questions and they took their time answering us. So very happy that we have chosen this place for our pet!

I would like to share my experience with Ashburn Veterinary Hospital because I feel it would be a disservice to other clients not to. We recently moved to the area and needed to establish care with a veterinarian for our dog’s routine annual vaccines. I brought my young, healthy dog in with no complaints or concerns other than needing his yearly vaccines. We were scheduled with DR. ELIZABETH DOMINGUEZ. During the exam, Dr. Dominguez listened to my dog’s heart and told me she heard a very loud and serious grade 4 heart murmur. As a nurse practitioner, I was surprised and somewhat skeptical because my dog had been seen by another veterinarian only four months prior and had never been noted to have anything abnormal with his heart. I asked whether stress or positioning could affect what she was hearing, but she assured me she was confident in her assessment and recommended that we see a cardiologist urgently for an echocardiogram. She referred us to a cardiology group in the area. When we called and explained the diagnosis, they were also concerned about a newly discovered grade 4 murmur and worked us into their schedule quickly. For the next two weeks our family was extremely worried that our dog might have a serious heart condition. My husband, who is a surgeon, took time off from work to take our dog to the cardiology appointment. At that visit, two veterinarians independently examined him and listened to his heart. Both stated that his heart sounded completely normal and that they did not hear any murmur. They even asked us if we were sure that we saw a licensed veterinarian and not a student! Dr Dominguez created a very negative reputation for herself with this practice as they were shocked that we were referred there. Afterward, I contacted Ashburn Veterinary Hospital and spoke with the office manager and the medical director. I want to acknowledge that the practice handled the situation professionally. They were extremely apologetic for the stress this caused and the medical director refunded the cost of our cardiology visit. I truly appreciate the effort the practice made to fix Dr. Dominguez’s mistake. I also want to emphasize that this review reflects my specific experience with ELIZABETH DOMINGUEZ, not the entire hospital. The staff and management were responsive and supportive when the issue was brought to their attention. This provider was arrogant, unknowledgeable, negligent, and dangerous in her practice. I hope she learns from this so she does not subject other families to this. I will still be coming to this office, but I will never allow this person to touch my dog again.

First in-person visit service***** First post-visit service** Changed vets due to move. Friendly staff and vet service. Dog had an easy annual wellness exam as expected. Had no complaints until after the visit. Take my personal disappointment as you will. Dog needs new flea/tick meds. They gave me a hand written prescription (that’s a new one to me). I submitted an order with an online retailer as I typically do and selected the option for them to contact my vet for approval. That’s where things halted. The online retailer requires approval from the vet or the prescription to be physically mailed to them? And apparently Ashburn VH told the retailer they will NOT send them the prescription, but the client (I) could come pick up another piece of paper to mail to them myself. Go figure, I can’t find the piece of paper Ashburn VH gave to me anymore. So I’d have to go back to their office to get a new one to mail it in to get the dog’s meds? It’s a big little thing. I’ve had different veterinarians over the years for my pets and never had to be involved in getting a prescription approved/sent to order meds before. What’s the big deal? Why not just go pick up a new piece of paper and mail it in myself? Ok. But exactly- same question to the vet, why can’t they, for their customers. Appreciate their prompt responses to my inquiries, but disappointed in the unexpected challenges of getting my dog’s meds refilled, and after spending hundreds at the vet in order to be able to order the hundreds in meds again.

We recently switched to this vet and have had such a great experience. The team is incredibly attentive, compassionate, and communicates really well. My cat Lily had 8 teeth extracted, and they took amazing care of her. They explained everything clearly and followed up to make sure she was recovering well, which meant a lot. You can tell they truly care, and their pricing is very reasonable. So glad we found them—highly recommend!

We first went here on a random day because our cat was not acting right… it was surgery day and they squeezed us in. Everyone was so friendly and kind.. this last time LeoBear needed hours annual shots and they gave him to him and he didn’t make a sound and we didn’t even know they did it… they were that good… I’m so grateful for how they treated my baby. Even on the way home he was good didn’t cry like he usually does in the way home from the vet

When my sweet kitty was ill they made time for him to come right in, they took amazing care of him saving his life. They cared for us as well answering all our questions and making us feel welcome and loved. They helped facilitate his transfer to the overnight ER vet and back to keep him safe.

Finding a veterinarian practice you completely trust isn’t easy, especially when your dog is getting older and every decision feels important. After more than 12 years with another veterinary practice, I was nervous about making a change. I’m so glad I did. Dr. David Iskandar, better known to his clients as Dr. David, at Nova Animal Hospital in Ashburn, VA has been wonderful with Parker. Dr. David is extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. He takes the time to answer every question, never makes me feel rushed, and explains what he’s thinking in a way that makes sense. I always leave feeling like we have a plan instead of wondering what to do next. The staff has been equally impressive. Everyone I’ve met has been kind, patient, and genuinely caring. Being open seven days a week has been such a comfort, and every time I’ve called because I was worried about Parker, they’ve found a way to get her in that same day. As a dog mom, that means more than I can say. Over the years, I’ve had enough experience with veterinarians to know the difference between a good one and an exceptional one. Dr. David is exceptional.

Our senior dog had an accident and had to be put down. We had never taken him to Nova Animal Hospital before but they were open on the Sunday it happened. Dr Schlossberg and the entire team were incredibly warm, compassionate and supportive on this very difficult day for our family. Convenient location to our home with the kindest vets and techs. I had a problem getting ear medication into my cat’s ear and they had me come back the next day and show me again how to do it. I feel like my kitty is in good hands here.

Dr. Santos and the rest of the staff are wonderful. My Max had his neuter surgery last week. Dr. Santos met with me when I dropped Max off, he called just prior to surgery to give me a status and then called again afterwards. I felt fully informed and comfortable throughout the process. Max went home with everything he needed and is healing quickly. I have heard from others at different practices that their experiences were not nearly as great as mine and I am so appreciative for the great care Max received. I highly recommend Dr. Santos and Ashburn Village Animal Hospital.

We cannot thank Dr. Keenen, Nick and the rest of the AVAH staff enough for everything they have done for us, as our dog Lillie struggled through the aging process with various issues including extremely painful arthritis and cancer at the very end. They were kind, caring and compassionate. They answered numerous emails and phone calls and worked with us as we tried out various treatments for her to try to ease her pain. And all along, keeping in mind the situation we were in and the costs associated with everything and we never felt like it was being recommended that we spend a ton of money on unnecessary tests which we have had at other local vets. All and all I could not say enough wonderful things about them. And Lillie would agree as she gave Dr. Keenen one last kiss on the nose before she said goodbye to us.

We are a large family with several pets, and from our very first appointment, Dr. Pantín was absolutely amazing. She genuinely cares about her furry patients and takes the time to thoroughly evaluate each one. Her professionalism, compassion, and dedication have always made us feel confident that our pets were receiving the best possible care. This is why I am very sad to see her leaving the practice. At the same time, I completely understand and wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors. Unfortunately, while our experiences with Dr. Pantín have been exceptional, I cannot say the same about some of our interactions with the front desk staff and certain assistants. Over the years, I have encountered customer service that felt unprofessional and, at times, disappointing. Even simple requests, such as obtaining a prescription, have occasionally become unnecessarily difficult. I truly hope the practice takes this feedback into consideration and continues to improve the client experience. For a hospital that cares for beloved family members, having team members who are passionate about animals and customer service is incredibly important. Despite these concerns, I have recommended this practice to friends and family because of the outstanding care provided by Dr. Pantín. I sincerely hope the hospital continues to grow and improve, and I wish Dr. Pantín all the success she deserves.

What an amazing veterinary practice. The doctors are amazing and the staff is great. They have always been sensitive to our needs and care for our senior kitties so well. When we finally had to put our 17 year old cat down they sent us the most touching card with messages from the entire staff. This is an amazing place

Worth the trip from Woodbridge to Ashburn. The staff here is friendly and gentle with my rabbit. Explained everything to me thoroughly and answered any questions I had. No wait time and understood that I was coming 15 minutes late. The price is very reasonable and I got discounted due to my insurance.

Our deep concerns and the reason we rated this office one star is due to: uncollaborative treatment and care, in addition to expensive, unneeded tests before basic ones. We took our dog to Animal Medical Centers of Loudoun for help with diarrhea. While they ran a blood panel (which was normal), they bypassed basic, foundational diagnostics like a fecal test. Instead, we were given a frightening provisional diagnosis and immediately directed to an expensive, inconclusive X-ray. When that came back inconclusive, they pushed for further costly testing, with the implication that surgery would be the next step for our older, service dog. When I spoke directly with the vet to try to get more information and discuss a care plan that works for everyone, the interaction felt cold, and was certainly uncollaborative. It felt as though they were arguing to defend their alarming provisional diagnosis while carefully avoiding definitive answers. Distressed by the experience, my family sought a second opinion from another veterinarian. The difference was night and day! The second vet started with basic testing, including a fecal test, and put together a clear, logical plan using antibiotics and over-the-counter fiber. They thoroughly explained why the condition was not immediately life-threatening and what specific signs to look out for. Our service dog / smallest member of our family felt better that evening and was recovered in 2 days. The emotional toll this took on my family was severe! We went from being told our dog might not last the night to finding out the issue was entirely treatable with basic medicine and fiber. We have officially switched veterinary practices and cannot recommend this clinic based on our experience.

You know… i feel so conflicted about rating this place one star. The vet i dealt with was AMAZING and the vet nurses that assist the vet? AMAZING. If awesome vets is what youre looking for, this really is a gem of a place. I called this establishment concerned for my new kitten and her clawing at her ears. They saw me QUICKLY and they were ALL sweet and kind and some of the best vet care i ever could have hoped for. Really. Theyre the best. I am rating them one star because of price transparency and what i feel was deceitful bait and switch practices when it came to billing me for pet care. I brought my kitten in for issues with her ears. The first visit was 400$. During that visit, i asked to set up a spay and microchip. I was given a quote for the entire procedure, which advertised a feline spay package which included the price of EVERYTHING for the spay, preop labs, post op visits etc. i was told the total price would be 1066$. They set up an appointment for a few days later for me to do labs. I was told id pay 350$ at that visit as a deposit. And the remaining balance would be due monday after her spay procedure. So imagine my surprise when i come in and have the labs done and im hit with a nearly 700$ bill after the fact. I was trying to tell the woman at the front desk, that is not what i was told id have to pay. Her response was basically, “well you were told wrong. So the total is $635. How will you be paying”. I kept trying to figure out how i could be told one price beforehand and then get a price nearly double that after the fact with no explanation. The woman was trying to rush me out of the office by telling me to just take it up with the office manager (who was not there). I was put on the spot and i was so uncomfortable. I merely was trying to understand how this happened. I was not rude at any point, but i felt she was. Its the worst feeling to be bait and switched like that and then have someone treat YOU like youre the problem for trying to ask questions and understand. Very unprofessional. My experience with the wonderful staff was ruined by this. That is not how you treat people! We are all out here trying to keep our heads above water with everything happening in the world and give our pets a good life and to be treated like this was beyond horrible! I was lied to about pricing and treated like a criminal when i was attempting to ask questions. I just want others to be aware of this before attempting to have pets seen here. Make sure you verify price MANY times with multiple people and get everything in writing if you can.
