The technician, Charles, did an excellent job giving us the second opinion and we decided to move forward with meeting with Jason to discover options with replacing or keeping our system. Jason was very thorough with analyzing the system but also listening to our concerns. We are moving forward with replacement and we are very happy with the price quoted.

We had a fantastic experience with Meades, thanks to our technician Mason. He came out to our rental property on a Sunday to assess an issue with our AC unit, ordered the necessary parts first thing Monday morning, and was back on Tuesday to complete the repair. That kind of turnaround is hard to find. Mason was punctual and took the time to clearly explain what he was fixing and why. We’ve had other technicians simply recommend cleaning our units, but Mason was the first to actually take it upon himself to hose them down and do the work himself. Our tenants were equally impressed. Our experience with Meade's Heating and Air has been exceptional! Scheduling this appointment for a non functioning AC unit was easy over the phone. The technician, Mason came on the same day and was very positive, thorough and explained options in a professional manner. He was able to diagnosis and fix the problem. We have had several HVAC companies provide service for us over the 20+ years we have lived in Northern Virginia, and our initial impression is that they are a very competent reasonable company that provides excellent service.

Tyson did an outstanding job installing our new water heater. He was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and left everything spotless when the job was finished. I had Matt in today, with Jonathan shadowing him, and they did great work! Every part of the process was explained to me – what was wrong, what that meant, what it was supposed to look like, and how to fix it. They originally came in for the yearly free maintenance check you get with a membership, but they found an issue with our water pressure system. They fixed it within a couple hours, and were out of my house by noon with a full comprehensive list of what they had done, how long it should last, and an easy expectation that if *anything* was wrong later, they would fix it (for free, up to a year later). Both young men were very helpful, friendly, and professional.

Gustavo Hernandez was excellent! Fh furr has always given us excellent service from plumbing to HVAC. The technicians are respectful of my home. They are very knowledgeable. I have been having issues with my sump for a while with three floods to deal with. No one seemed to know what the issue was and my last sump pump failed in less than a year. But today, Mr Hernandez was able to solve the problem and we are forever grateful. We have the home service plan and it has really paid off. They have a lot of availability and are great with communicating on the day of service.

Phil was able to identify the issue with my non-working AC. I expected it needed to be replaced since it was very old and ended up being completely out of freon refrigerant. He also pointed out several issues with my furnace while he diagnosed the AC unit. Phil provided replacement recommendations and reviewed what was included and why they would be good for my needs and location. I went with a much more modern Amana system. The pricing was fairly good, and expected for the work needed. He also offered payment plans at the time which no other company did. Phil and his team did a very professional and clean install. I highly recommend Premier Home Comfort and Phil Houser after a full HVAC replacement in our Reston condo. Premier installed an Amana ARVT96 2-stage variable-speed furnace, matching ALXS5BA4210 AC system, a Reme Halo HT air purification system, and upgraded our return duct to support a 4-inch MERV 13 filter (only needs changing ~1–2x/year). Our original HVAC company gave us a an estimate to replace our entire HVAC system because of a problem we were having. I called Modern Mechanical and they sent out a tech within 2 hours. He ran his test on our air handler and heat pump and determined we really DID NOT require a complete HVAC replacement. All he did was to add some additional refrigerant into the heat pump to bring it up the required amount. Did some additional upgrades and all is well . Jamie was the tech and did a GREAT job explaining what he felt the problem was and DID NOT require a new HVAC SYSTEM. He is a great representative for Modern Mechanical and I will now use them for all our future HVAC REQUIREMENTS. 👍👍👍

We had a great experience with Ruma Plumbing and especially with Wael. They came out the very next day when we were concerned about a possible gas leak from our cooktop and also needed help with a toilet flushing issue. Wael arrived right on time, was professional, thorough, and took the time to clearly explain what he found and what needed to be done. The Roto-Rooter technician (plumber) came and he was very courteous and knowledgeable. He almost immediately identify the problem and provided his assessment with quote for the repairs. The price was reasonable and we accepted. The plumber fixed the pipe in no time. We are very pleased with the job done. We definitely recommend Roto-Rooter for situation like this a pipe broken or other plumbing jobs. This is the first time we use their services and the plumber worked well. We are very satisfied.

Nick (from RR) was PROFESSIONAL & AWESOME. He constantly communicated everything with us (tenants) & the landlord. He went above & beyond to find the sewer gas leak(s). He did his initial inspection (throughout the entire house) but no visible leak(s) were found, so he did the smoke/fog test at least 6 times or more. Also, he went back up in the attic, but no leak(s) found. So, he removed the toilet caps to see if there was any leak(s). Yes he discovered the leak from the toilet after removing the caps. He replaced the rings for 2 toilets (reported in the work order) & was willing to check the remaining 2 toilets even though they weren’t in the work order. He really cares about his customers & didn’t act like it was just a job. We will request Nick for any plumbing issues & recommend this Roto-Rooter location. Thanks again Nick for your GREAT service & patience.

I called Roto-Rooter for kitchen sink is backed up, but we ultimately chose not to move forward with their services because of their predatory pricing structure and high-pressure warranty sales tactics. The issues started from the very beginning. When I called the receptionist to get a basic estimate or a price range for standard drain snaking, she completely refused to give me any numbers, claiming only a technician could tell me the price. This company has been in business for decades; there is no reason they cannot give a standard baseline range over the phone. However, because they advertised a "Free Estimate," I booked the appointment anyway. (I had actually canceled a different plumbing company first because they wanted to charge a $69 upfront diagnostic fee just to come out). My husband was home for the appointment, and I had him call me with the pricing. Before he arrived, my husband had already run a 100-foot mechanical snake down the line ourselves, which we openly disclosed. The technician's baseline price just to run their snake machine was $455—and that didn't even include a warranty! He then offered a deal where he would run his corporate snake machine, and if it didn’t work, he wouldn’t charge us the $455 for it, but he would hydro-jet the line instead for an astronomical $2,000. It felt like he simply bundled the hidden cost of the snake, a fake discount, and the jetting into one heavily inflated price. On top of that, he aggressively tried to push a 6-month extended warranty for an extra $428, total $893. If the warranty had been for 3 years, I would not have minded paying for that peace of mind. But paying $428 for only 6 months is outrageous. It made me incredibly anxious that if I didn't buy the extra warranty, the technician wouldn't do a proper job. To ensure the line was truly clear, I requested that hot tap water be left running for an hour after the work (stating the technician didn't even need to stay for it). He flatly refused to run it for more than 20 minutes and offered zero professional explanation as to why. When I directly asked him, "If I run the hot water myself after you leave today and it backs up again up immediately, what will you do?" he completely dodged the question. He wouldn't promise to come back out if it failed that same day. He simply said do we want him to do it or not. We ultimately decided not to do the work with them because we do not want to pay overpriced fees for work that isn't guaranteed unless you buy a short-term warranty. Roto-Rooter uses "Free Estimates" to get their foot in the door, then hits you with high-pressure sales scripts. We are taking our business to an honest, independent local plumber instead.

I called 6 different businesses in my area for quotes to have my broken and leaking water heater replaced. Clover hands down had the best value AND the best customer service experience! I was blown away! While most companies charge for a quote or require a technician visit, Clover offered me a free, no-hassle quote over the phone by simply sending a few pictures (which they offer for certain services). I initially spoke with Lizzie on the phone who helped me get the process started. She was extremely helpful, understanding, and responsive with my primary call and follow up questions. She also walked me through their many guarantees and signature service benefits. After choosing Clover, they were able to schedule me for next day service to quickly have my water heater replaced. The service technicians (Austin and Ricky) were incredibly professional and walked me through everything they were doing. They are clearly knowledgeable and highly trained in their craft and we’re well equipped to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend Clover and will plan on using their services again if needed!

We received quotes from a lot of HVAC companies and ultimately used Clover. Ryan did an awesome job at helping us figure out the issue with our Furnace – blower motor and inducer was bad. Since the unit was so old (20 years old) we went ahead and replaced that. We noticed major corrosion on our water heater and I asked them about fixing the dryer exhaust pipes in the wall because somehow that was crushed. Long story short we replaced the furnace, water heater and they fixed the damaged dryer exhaust pipe in the wall. They even replaced/fixed all the old gas and water pipes hooking up to the furnace/water heater. They did an awesome job. We added on some extras like the Honeywell air filtration system and the extra home air purifier with a humidifier for the home. This has helped tremendously with allergies, and dry nose during the winter. I only have the "after photos" but compared to before it looks 100% better, our furnace works great now. The piping system is still complicated but they made it way better than before. Also want to say thanks for the muffins.

Clover Services was one of very few responses I received (and were extremely quick) to respond to my request for an estimate to repair (but most likely replace) my elderly father's old boiler system from the 1970's. They arranged for one of their best technicians to evaluate the system as soon as possible and he spent a lot of time analyzing how best to replace and dispose of the the old system. Their prices were competitive and the total amount was exactly what we expected it would cost to replace. The company went above and beyond to get the equipment ordered and installed as quickly as possible so my father would have heat in time for the cold weather. This was not an easy job and not one that many companies wanted to attempt – but Clover Services, Ryan and all of their technicians took this job without hesitation and worked hard for two days to get it done. Ryan, the lead tech, was extremely professional, communicative and friendly (as was Wendy in the office) and they both made sure I understood the estimate, the timeline and all that the job entailed. They also treated my father and his home with dignity and respect. They did a fantastic job and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again!

I hired Clover Contracting for some plumbing work at my home, and overall, I had a very positive experience. The plumber arrived on time, quickly identified the issue, and explained the repair process in simple terms. They fixed a leaky pipe and also checked the water heater to ensure everything was running smoothly. The service was professional, and the pricing felt fair for the quality of work. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars is because the cleanup could have been a bit more thorough, but I’d definitely call them again.

On Jan 16th I called CLOVER HVAC service because my HVAC was shutting down and home wasn't heating. They sent two technicians to home in short time. They observed the code 31 or 13 flashing on the carrier HVAC and told me it’s the pressure switch that is faulty. Since they claimed they were licensed and experienced technician I trusted them and paid $478 in total ( $99 for the visit + $379 advance payment o replace the pressure switch for next visit ). After they left, the HVAC system was working, blowing hot air but doesn't take break when indoor temperature reaches thermostat set temperature. (This is quite dangerous for multitude of reasons). It was like furnace inside the home. I called them to visit home and check. They suggested, I should attempt to fix while they instruct me how to do it on phone. WHAT A WORST IDEA. JUST to keep my property safe I attempted it with lot of hesitation and fear of the furnace. Then I see the furnace started accumulating water quite close to the electric/mother circuit board. I was scared because its basic electrical 101, water with active current is a worst scene. They came back on the same evening and fixed it. I was really unsatisfied & frustrated and called their office and ASKED THEM "PLEASE CANCEL MY NEXT SERVICE OF REPLACING THE PRESSURE SWITCH" because of their inexperience and the mess. They told me that they will refund that day visit cost $99 and will send a senior technician to do "FULL SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND IF AT ALL NECESSARY, THEY WILL REPLACE THE SWITCH". I didn't like the idea but I finally agreed after they repeatedly declining to cancel the next appointment with them. Then the senior tech came and couldn't really pinned down the issue and replaces the pressure switch without concrete evidence. The HVAC ran fine for 4 days and on fifth day it started flashing the same error code 31 or 13 . I called them and they sent same senior tech again as soon as they could. At this visit he claimed he did what he should have done in his earlier visits . i.e HVAC 101. ANY LICENSING SCHOOL WOULD TEACH THIS, WHENEVER HVAC FLASHING PRESSURE SWITCH CODE YOU SHOULD 1) OPEN THE BLOWER FAN, CHECK FOR ANY CLOGS, DEBRIS AND CONDENSATE LIQUID? THEY DIDN'T DO THIS. NOT EVEN TOUCHED IT. 2) CHECK EXHAUST, INTAKE AND DRAIN PIPES TO CHECK FOR ANY CLOGS. THEY DID EXAMINE THIS. 3) CHECK THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS FOR ANY ISSUE. THEY TESTED THIS. WHY DIDN’T YOU CHECK THE BLOWER FAN?? WAS IT TOO SIMPLE AND DOESN’T COST MUCH TO CUSTOMER? The HVAC stopped working again for the second time and this time knew I will be a total fool if I call them because $379 + three CLOVER technicians + four visits couldn't fix it . Either they knew what was the problem and they choose not to operate and scam me by replacing a well-functioning part or they don’t know above point (1). By looking at the below attached pictures and not doing HVAC 101 point (1), you might be convinced the first case is likely true. i.e they wanted to do something which would bring more money and not doing simple cleaning which could have done during their first visit for just $99. After waiting for two cold nights a genuine technician came and said there is nothing wrong with old pressure switch (he tested it by replacing it) or another component. AND just the ducts and pipes needed further cleaning. IT has been a couple days it’s working. I called them for a refund since they claim "MONEY BACK GUARANTEE" if their service was unsatisfactory. SINCE YOU COULD FIX THE PROBLEM AND DIDN’T DO THE BASIC CHECK IN YOUR FIRST VISIT YOU SHULD REFUND. They tell me, they already gave $99 discount and cannot offer any further discount. I WANT TO REMIND; YOU GAVE ME $99 BECAUSE YOU PUT MY WHOLE HVAC AT RISK BECAUSE OF THE WATER LEAKING FROM THE EXHAUST PIEPE. IT WAS YOUR FAULT. YOU DIDN’T DO A FAVOUR TO ME. Now I am asking for refund because even after four visits and charging me $379 you couldn't fix the issue AND REPLACED A WELL FUNCTIONING PART WHICH WAS TOTAL UNNECESSARY. You break my confidence and trust.

OUTSTANDING HVAC SERVICES!!! If I could give Freddie and Cube Heating & Cooling 10 stars, I absolutely would for the new Bryant System he installed 2 days ago! After years of struggling with builder-grade HVAC issues, repeated contractor disappointments, and systems that never properly worked in my townhouse, I finally found someone who truly cares about his customers, his workmanship, and doing things the RIGHT way. Freddie has serviced my system for several years and honestly helped keep it going far longer than anyone else could have. When it finally came time for a full replacement, he walked me through every option patiently and thoroughly. He never pressured me, never upsold me unnecessarily, and took the time to explain the differences between systems, efficiency levels, airflow, thermostats, comfort, and what would truly work best for MY home. What stood out most was that every recommendation he made was based on what he personally uses in his own home and for his own family. That level of honesty and confidence meant everything to me. Freddie and his partner worked over 13 hours installing my new Bryant system, and I was blown away by the professionalism, craftsmanship, organization, and attention to detail from start to finish. The weather was absolutely miserable — cold, rainy, and windy all day — yet they came fully prepared. They even set up a work tent over the outdoor unit area so they could continue working carefully and professionally despite the conditions. Their work ethic and dedication were incredible. Not only does the new system work beautifully, but the transformation of my utility room is unbelievable. They removed years of old, unnecessary, poorly installed equipment left behind by previous companies and completely reorganized everything. The ductwork, venting, tubing, drainage, layout — every detail is now neat, streamlined, clean, and professionally done. It honestly looks amazing. They were incredibly respectful of my home the entire day — constantly cleaning, communicating, protecting floors, and making sure everything was done correctly. Freddie also fully set up and explained the Ecobee Premium thermostat and sensors for me and made sure I understood how everything worked before leaving. Another thing that impressed me was how organized the entire process was. As soon as the old equipment was removed, Freddie already had a haul-away crew coordinated and ready. The old units and materials were quickly removed from the property instead of sitting outside all day, which I greatly appreciated. What impressed me most was the pride they took in their work. Our water heater stopped working and we ordered a new one from Modern Mechanical. Technician plumber Brett Knox arrived at out home at 9:30 this morning as promised in a text sent 45 minutes earlier. He scoped things out and went to work. He wrestled the old bulky 75 gallon tank out of the utility closet and installed a new 50 gallon tank in about 3.5 hours. He did a beautiful job with the copper piping and put in a new expansion tank. He also realigned the overflow pipe from the new overflow pan so it didn't conflict with the access to our HVAC filter as before. Brett was extremely courteous, professional and trustworthy. Brett is a thoughtful, kind individual with a positive vibe about him. We enjoyed having him in our home. I would highly recommend Brett for any of your plumbing needs.

Very happy with the new HVAC installation. Their quote was much less than a competitor and for a better product and warranty. Rafael and Chris did an amazing job digging out the snow to get everything set up correctly. Highly recommend them

We recently had our HVAC replaced by Modern Mechanical and George was the most honest salesperson I’ve ever met. He was upfront with the costs, pros/cons of various units and took the time to walk us through the entire process to make an informed decision. The installers were great and didn’t leave a mess behind and took the time to show us some of the features of the furnace, humidifier, AC and thermostat.

We ended up needing a new hot water heater unexpectedly. Omar, with Modern Mechanical, showed up within the scheduled time frame and went right to work . He diagnosed the situation to determine if he could salvage the existing hot water heater with a repair or if replacing it was the best option. The 20 year old unit needed replacing so Omar began the job. He worked non stop until the new water heater was installed and functioning properly. His work is very clean, neat and professional. Would / will definitely recommend him and Modern Mechanical to others.

I have used Modern Mechanical for the past 3 years and have been repeatedly disappointed by their shoddy workmanship and poor customer service. Modern Mechanical installed a new heat pump and condenser at my home 3 years ago. A week later, I needed a breaker replacement due to the new system overloading the breaker. Despite having signed up for the Home Guard membership and having a one-year warranty in place, I did not receive the advertised discount or any other adjustment. Last year, I required a repair for a refrigerant leak. I again did not receive the Home Guard discount. Moreover, the technician explained that the leak was due to improper installation of the condenser by Modern Mechanical two years earlier. The technician was incredibly rude, chatting with a friend he brought along, and the company took no corrective action to fix the improper installation after his visit. I had yet another leak this year, from the heat pump this time. The technician didn’t address the leak, but he reiterated that our condenser was improperly installed by Modern Mechanical. When I called the company to explain the situation, I was told that management would respond shortly. I received a call back moments later from the customer service agent I had spoken to, only to be yelled at and berated for bringing up an issue which the company’s own technicians had repeatedly raised. I later received an email from management which refused to address the technicians’ concerns about the improper installation, as well as the overcharged service visits. If you are looking for peace of mind and an HVAC system that works, do not choose Modern Mechanical.
