5.7

Spice Village in Herndon stands out as a multi-cuisine dining destination, blending Chinese, Pakistani, and Western flavors under one roof. Its versatile menu allows guests to mix and match dishes, making it ideal for diverse groups. The refined ambiance enhances special occasions, while attentive service and solid food quality contribute to a polished experience.

While the buffet offerings showcase variety, flavor consistency can vary—some dishes excel, while others may fall short of expectations. Recent menu adjustments, including the removal of certain classics, have sparked mixed reactions. The 18% service charge and occasional inconsistencies in dish presentation may deter return visits for some, though standout items like nihari and chai remain highlights.

Spice Village is actually several restaurants in one. They have a Chinese food kitchen, steakhouse, desi kitchen, etc. with distinct sections of the menu. We went for a graduation dinner and everyone was able to order the type of food that they wanted. The atmosphere is refined and provided a good dinner experience for the occasion. The service was top notch. Food quality was excellent. Definitely will go back here.

I recently visited Spice Village Pakistani Restaurant with a party of four for their iftar buffet. The buffet offered a wide variety of options, which was definitely a positive. The spread included a mix of Chinese, desi, and fast food items such as sliders, fried chicken, orange chicken, chow mein, fried rice, goat curry, butter chicken, chicken karahi, chicken biryani, as well as desserts like gajar ka halwa and kheer. While the selection was quite extensive, the overall taste of the food was fairly average. Most dishes lacked the depth of flavor one might expect, especially for a Pakistani buffet. I would rate the overall food experience around 6/10. A couple of items did stand out slightly. The nihari was decent and probably the best savory dish I tried, which I would rate around 7/10. The gajar ka halwa was also enjoyable and worth trying, also about 7/10. The highlight for me, however, was the chai, which was very good and easily a 9/10.

What happened? I came especially for the hakka crispy beef only to see the entire Chinese menu gone. They said they will be modifying more in the future for Indochinese but definitely will be a very different taste. Not interested in indochinese.. Steak is also gone. Loaded nachos were also not the same as what we had last time. They used be so filling and there were layers of nachos mixed with cheese that you could pick up and share. It was just clumped together broken chips and ending up eating with a fork. Peshawar kabob was tasty came with bread that we upgraded to garlic naan. Enjoyed both. The chicken bites same company nash and smash tastes very different. It felt like we had grilled chicken bites not fried chicken bites. Water has become a luxury . No complimentary water served. Its become rather cheap service disguised as fine dining. For the 18 percent service fee its not worth dine in for the current menu. I will just check out the new menu via takeout next time but definitely not dining in.

Doer of all , master of none. This place has the worst peri peri chicken I've ever had. It's boiled chicken with watery sauce on top. However the chicken and beef seek about combo was tasty The meat was juicy.

It wasn’t a very bad experience, but it wasn’t great either. The seating area was nice, but since the place combines multiple kitchens, including Indian, the smell was very strong and unpleasant. Eating a burger while surrounded by those heavy food aromas was not enjoyable. I ordered from Nash and Smashed. The beef burger was good, but the chicken burger was really disappointing. It seemed like the chicken was refried, making it extremely dry, even though the sauce on it was tasty. I would also mention that the prices felt a bit on the higher side considering the overall experience. In addition, adding a mandatory 18% service charge to the bill is, in my opinion, not a good practice. It would be much better to leave the tipping percentage up to the customer.
