Carolina Brothers Pit Barbeque

Took a walk on the WOD trail and ran into this place (it’s right on the trail). We went in and were pleasantly surprised. We weren’t too hungry, so we ordered the macaroni and cheese and coleslaw: both were delicious!!! We will definitely be back and next we will bring our appetite!

I have passed by this place many times. My husband and I decided to try it this past weekend. The food was excellent and the price was reasonable, especially considering the area. My family is from North Carolina and it has been a long time since I have been able to have good BBQ. This place is legit! They even have the vinegar based sauce which is a staple of North Carolina BBQ. We will definitely be returning.

This is a great bbq restaurant right off the W&OD trail. The BBQ itself is good, and has the vinegar base famous in North Carolina style BBQ. Prices are very reasonable, it's one of the few places I can take my family of four out for under $100. Service is friendly and it definitely has both a local vibe and a "destination on the trail" vibe.

Pork BBQ is always fresh, not fatty, delicious. Their homemade BBQ sauce is good too, NC style. Not hot. Mac and cheese is out of this world, and green beans can be peppery but are tasty. A sandwich platter with mac and cheese and green beans is a perfect lunch, maybe even a little too much food. But hard not to finish it all. A smidge of cole slaw on the sandwich is the perfect topper. Consistently fantastic. I never regret a visit. Btw the pork portion on a sandwich tends to be healthy. A little pork off the top with a fork never hurts for making a sandwich more manageable.
