The Spiggle Law Firm was not very responsive during my dispute with a former employer over denied unemployment benefits in Virginia. I initially paid $100 for a consultation, where a lawyer confirmed I had reasonable grounds for a First Level Appeal. That was actually helpful. As I wanted some assistance with the appeal, I was told a Client Services Director would contact me about next steps and fees—but I heard nothing for a week and had to follow up myself. When I finally connected with them, I was asked to sign a contract and deposit $3,000. While reviewing the contract, I noticed it explicitly excluded representation for unemployment compensation claims—THE EXACT SERVICE I NEEDED. I was told this clause would be removed and a revised contract sent, but I never received one. Overall, the lack of communication and follow-through was frustrating. I subsequently won payment of my unemployment claim against my employer thanks to NO help from Spiggle Law. Read any legal contract carefully, and be cautious about paying large upfront fees and do not use this law firm.

In my case, the $3,100 fee compared to the limited communication and progress left me questioning the value of the services provided.
